Never Quit

On June 22, 2011, in Renewing Your Mind, by Milton Carnes

There is no such thing as failure, but only results.  You'll never produce results until you do something.  Say this with me, "I always see my failures as signals meaning I need to make adjustments in my actions". Do not interpret this as anything else.

Show me your belief in what is possible (FAITH) without you doing anything and I'll show you my beliefs in what is possible (FAITH) by the things I do.

In order words, you have got to take action on what you believe.  This seems to be the stumbling block for most believers. This is where the rubber meets the road. Taking action while renewing your mind.

As you start your journey on "Getting The Word" in you, you are going to have to become a student of YHWH's Set Apart Spirit

"There are many people who live and die and never know anything
different from what has been handed down to them." ~ unknown

"If you want to become more and do more, you have to learn more"
"School is never out for the children of YAH"

The Messiah has already done what you are trying to do.  This will be your road map to success. You will have to read, study constantly, listen to audios, watch videos, and meditate on "The Word" both day and night.

If you find that you cannot be a student of YHWH, then maybe you need to re-examine your desires. Your willingness to take action will determine if your true desire is to follow YAH.

Awareness Thinking

The Most High & The Messiah are constantly saying, "Listen, Pay Attention, Be Aware". Awareness thinking is "thinking about your thoughts, feelings, or actions" and how they dictate your circumstances/situations/issues of life. You cannot change until you are "AWARE" of your heart's desire.

Through awareness, you will begin to pay attention to (NOT FOCUS ON) your circumstances, situations, negative feelings, your doings, and negative thoughts in order to point your actions in a new direction toward the things of YAH by becoming spiritually minded.

Through awareness you will begin to discover the "reason why" you do what you do and why you feel the way you feel. Clarity in focus through awareness of YAH eliminates fear and opens the door for purposeful action.

Once you are "AWARE" of your thinking and/or actions, here is what you need to do in 4 easy steps:

  1. Pause before you react in thought, speech, or actions
  2. Ask yourself, Is this thought or action taking me toward or away from YAH?
  3. Change your focus by thinking a new thought about "The Word" on purpose or
  4. Move in a different direction toward YAH through "will power"

"Will Power" is temporary forced movement in a new direction.  Once your thinking and actions become habit, "Will Power" is no longer needed.

The more you practice this, the faster you will become at undoing your negative thinking, negative thoughts, and unwanted actions that are against "The Word" of YAH.

As stated earlier, through awareness you will notice the things you do that stop you from living in The Spirit, but being aware constantly of circumstances, and situations will not be your main focus. The Word of YAH is your main focus.  Awareness is simply getting you to stop what you are doing in order to take the necessary actions toward YAH in your thinking, feelings, and actions.

Automated Awareness Thinking can only be accomplished through much practice.
Speaking "The Word of YAH" loudly interrupts negative self-talk.  Test it for yourself by counting from 1 to 10 silently or to yourself.  When you get to 5, shout out loud your name.  What happened to your count to 10? You will notice that the count to ten (10) was interrupted and you stopped.  Do the same when you feel negative thoughts and emotions rise up in you that are against The Word of The Most High.

Two things that will combat negative emotions, negative feelings, or any thought that exhalts itself above The Word of YAH

  1. Instantly re-focus in thinking by taking your mind off of what you are feeling
  2. Trigger a strong positive emotion at the same time that you are feeling the negative emotion by playing your favorite music (instrumental version) and speaking The Word of YAH out loud. Let your music along with The Word of YAH change your mood and your thinking pattern.

Engage life! When negative thinking shows up, get busy doing something that is related to The Word of YAH! Changing your focus is the key.  Practice until you are good at re-focusing on The Word of YAH instantly.

The more aware of The Word of YAH you are, the more you'll experience joy, love, peace, faith, and self-control.

Lastly, never quit or give up on the promises.  When it seems like nothing is happening as you are walking in The Spirit, trust me when I say "something is always happening".
You just haven't gone far enough down the pathway to see and you never will, if you quit.

Four Bible Verses To Remember:

Habakkuk 2:2,3

2 And The Creator answered me and said, Write the vision and engrave it so plainly upon tablets that everyone who passes may be able to read it easily and quickly as he hastens by.

3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time and it hastens to the end [fulfillment]; it will not deceive or disappoint. Though it tarry, wait earnestly for it, because it will surely come; it will not be late on its appointed day.

Galatians 6:9

9 And let us not lose heart and grow weary and quit in acting nobly and doing right, for in due time and at the appointed season we shall reap, if we do not loosen and relax our courage and quit.

Luke 1:37

For with YAH nothing is ever impossible and no word from YAH shall be without power or impossible of fulfillment.

Mark 9:23

The Messiah said to him, If you can believe, all things are possible to him that believes in YHWH.

Faith Is By Hearing

On June 20, 2011, in Renewing Your Mind, by Milton Carnes

The Word & Music

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for (belief in what is possible), the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1
Faith (belief in what is possible, trust in YAH) comes by hearing The Word of YAH Romans 10:17
Romans 10:17 should read "Belief is by hearing." Come or cometh was added by the translators.
Hearing is a progressive verb which means constantly and consistently! In other words, not just once or twice but all the time …. 24/7 every minute of the day!

Mark 4:24 Amplified
And He said to them, Be careful what you are hearing. The measure [of thought and study] you give [to the truth you hear] will be the measure [of virtue and knowledge] that comes back to you–and more [besides] will be given to you who hear.

2 Corinthians 9:6
He who sows sparingly (hearing The Word of YAH) shall reap also sparingly; and he who sows bountifully (hearing The Word of YAH) shall reap also bountifully.

The Importance of Hearing/Listening to The Word of YaHUH

Genesis 3:17
And unto Adam He said, “Because thou hast hearkened (listen) unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree of which I commanded thee, saying, ‘Thou shalt not eat of it,’ cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life.

Exodus 15:26
and said, “If thou wilt diligently hearken (listen) to the voice of YaHUH thy Alahiym, and wilt do that which is right in His sight, and wilt give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee which I have brought upon the Egyptians; for I am YaHUH that healeth thee.

Leviticus 26:14
But if ye will not hearken (listen) unto Me and will not do all these commandments,

Numbers 14:22
Because all those men who have seen My glory and My miracles which I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have tempted Me now these ten times and have not hearkened (listen) to My voice...

Deuteronomy 7:12
Therefore it shall come to pass, if ye hearken (listen) to these judgments and keep and do them, that YaHUH thy Alahiym shall keep unto thee the covenant and the mercy which He swore unto thy fathers.

Deuteronomy 11:13
And it shall come to pass, if ye shall hearken (listen) diligently unto my commandments which I command you this day, to love YaHUH your Alahiym and to serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul,

Deuteronomy 28:1
And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken (listen) diligently unto the voice of YaHUH thy Alahiym to observe and to do all His commandments which I command thee this day, that YaHUH thy Alahiym will set thee on high above all nations of the earth;

Deuteronomy 28:2
and all these blessings shall come on thee and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken (listen) unto the voice of YaHUH thy Alahiym:

Deuteronomy 28:13
And YaHUH shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath, if thou hearken (listen) unto the commandments of YaHUH thy Alahiym which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them.

Deuteronomy 28:15
But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken (listen) unto the voice of YaHUH thy Alahiym, to observe to do all His commandments and His statutes which I command thee this day, that all these curses shall come upon thee and overtake thee:

YaHUH spoke the first ten commandments to the children of Israel. The purpose? Establish Belief! However the chikldren of Israel did not want to hear because of fear. See Exodus 20 in its entirety.

Music is an automatic and instant state of mind changer. If you are in need of an attitude adjustment, then listen to your favorite upbeat tempo music.
Music is powerful in that it motivates the emotions to easily impress the lyrics (words) from the music into the heart. You have probably experienced listening to music and the song got embedded into your mind (more specifically your heart). You may have said, "I just can't seem to get that song out of my head". You can do the exact same thing with scripture, but the lyrics will be The Word of YAH. This is a very powerful technique.
The ideal music to use with "The Word of YAH" would be jazz, classical, or the instrumental version of any type of music. Use the music to elevate your emotions and speak "The Word" as you listen to the music. The key is repetition and elevated positive emotions caused by the music!
How to find the instrumental version of your favorite song
If you are a lover of jazz and/or classical music, then your task of getting the music to speak "The Word" has already been done for you. Play, listen, feel, and speak!
If you ARE NOT a jazz or classical music listener, then YouTube is a great place to look for the instrumental version of your favorite music. Go to and search for your favorite artist/song and add the word "instrumental" at the end.

As you are feeling the positive energy from the music, speak "The Word". You may be tempted, but it is not a good idea to listen to your favorite music with the lyrics as you speak "The Word of YAH" at the same time.
Why? Never give your mind conflicting messages. Most of today's music will cause you to be confused, depressed, greedy, and/or sexually immoral. The question is this, where is your music taking you? Let the music move you in the direction where you want to go because of "The Word of YAH" and not the lyrics being sung by the artist. Of course, there are exceptions called Integrity Music.
As you listen to your favorite music and speak "The Word of YAH", you will begin to build an emotional attachment or association between "The Word of YAH" and the music only.
If this is done correctly, every time you hear your favorite music "The Word of YAH" will fire off in your thinking automatically. This effect can only happen through repetition in your listening and the speaking of "The Word of YAH".
Free Tool(s)
A method for recording Youtube audio files is to use an online audio recorder or audio MP3 converter which can be found using a simple google search.
Here is a FREE tool you can use to record music and record your own voice onto the instrumental version of your favorite music. It is called Audacity. For more information Click-Here. For this program, you will need a microphone for your computer. Audacity allows you to save recorded files as mp3’s.
If you have done this right, you will have a collection of the instrumental versions of your favorite music to speak "The Word of YAH. Or, you will have a collection of 'The Word of YAH" recorded to your favorite music. Hearing your recorded voice speaking to you with music is an awesome and powerful concept.
Everywhere you go, you should be listening to music and "The Word of YAH": while in the car, using an MP3 player, using a cell-phone, while jogging, while at home, and even at work. Take advantage of music technology to change your thinking by creating the essentials emotions so that you can transform your heart and change your life! Get The Word In You!

Keeping Torah From The Heart

On June 13, 2011, in Renewing Your Mind, by Milton Carnes

"8 Reasons Why The Word Of YAH May Not Be Working For You"

1. You don’t “SPEAK” The Word often enough.

2. You don’t “SEE” The Word often enough.

3. You don’t “HEAR” The Word all day and all night.

4. You don’t have any “EMOTIONS” attached to The Word.

5. You are living "IN SIN" either known or unknown.

6. You don't know what you really want. You are unstable as water. This is also called "BEING DOUBLE MINDED".

7. You are trying to exercise "FAITH WITHOUT WORKS”.

8. The Word of YAH is "NOT HIDDEN" in your heart.

Is this you? You read the Bible every day, you even study it while at the same time your life is still not experiencing the goodness of YAH. You are NOT at peace and you definitely NOT operating in the fruit of the spirit. There is more to The Word of YAH than just reading and studying the BOOK! Get The Word In YOU! Ahhh ... maybe you don't know how?

Let The Scriptures Speak!

Torah From The Heart: "How To Hide The Word In Your Heart"

What is the heart of man?

Deuteronomy 4:29 (Amplified Bible)
But if from there you will seek (inquire for and require as necessity) YAH your Alahiym, you will find Him if you [truly] seek Him with all your heart [and mind] and soul and life.

Proverbs 4:23
Keep and guard your heart (what you hear, see, think, speak, and do) with all your might consistently, diligently, and constantly, for out of the heart flows all of the issues you experience in life whether it is good or bad.

By nature our heart responds to emotions/feelings and repetitions. YAH has built this into us as humans. How do we know this? Well, just look at how we operate in nature. Cause a child to become emotional, and then constantly tell him or her that they will never succeed in life. This will become their thinking from their heart. This programming will follow him or her for the rest of their life unless it is changed.

Your heart has been programmed with many things that may not be favorable for your lifestyle now such as money issues, health issues, relationship issues, educational issues, emotional issues even issues in following The Word of YAH!

Matthew 6:21
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. (Where do you put your extra money? Is it into the things of YAH?)

How To Hide The Word of The Most High In Your Heart So That You Might Not Sin Against Him.

Hear "The Word" Constantly & Consistently

Proverbs 10:28 The hope (expectation) of the righteous (the upright, in right standing with YAH by keeping his law) is gladness (JOY), but the expectation of the wicked (those who are out of harmony with The Most High) comes to nothing.

The Messiah said, "Everything is possible for the one who
believes." Mark 9:23

And The Messiah also said .....

Go your way; and as you have believed, so be it done to you. Matthew 8:13

According to your faith be it to you. Matthew 9:29

In other words ...
What you believe 'right now in your heart'... is happening to you NOW!
What you believe 'will happen to you in your heart'... is happening to you NOW!

Then Paul clarifies The Messiah's words ....

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for (belief in what is possible), the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1

Faith (belief in what is possible) comes by hearing The Word of The Most High Romans 10:17

Hearing is a progressive verb which means constantly and
consistently! In other words, not just once or twice but all the time .... 24/7 every minute of the day!

Mark 4:24 Amplified
And He said to them, Be careful what you are hearing. The measure [of thought and study] you give [to the truth you hear] will be the measure [of virtue and knowledge] that comes back to you--and more [besides] will be given to you who hear.

2 Corinthians 9:6
He who sows sparingly (being spiritually minded) shall reap also sparingly; and he who sows bountifully (being spiritually minded) shall reap also bountifully.

Mediate on The Word Constantly & Consistently

Joshua 1:8
This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success.

Psalms 1
[1] BLESSED (HAPPY, fortunate, prosperous, and enviable) is the man who walks and lives not in the counsel of the ungodly [following their advice, their plans and purposes], nor stands [submissive and inactive] in the path where sinners walk, nor sits down [to relax and rest] where the scornful [and the mockers] gather. [2] But his delight and desire are in the law of YAH, and on His law (the precepts, the instructions, the teachings of God) he habitually meditates (ponders and studies) by day and by night.

What is meditation? Webster Dictionary states that meditation is to engage in contemplation or reflection of, to focus one's thoughts, to reflect or ponder over, to plan or project in the mind.

Think: to form or have in the mind, to have as an opinion, to regard as or consider, to reflect on or ponder, to determine by reflecting, to call to mind or remember, to center ones thoughts on or form a mental picture of, to have in the mind engaged in reflection, to consider.

Reflect: to think quietly and calmly.

Ponder: to weigh in the mind, to think about, reflect on, to think about - esp quietly, soberly and deeply.

Also, according to Webster, the words Ponder, Meditate, Muse, and Ruminate are synonyms and mean to consider or examine attentively or deliberately. PONDER implies a careful weighing of a problem or, often, prolonged inconclusive thinking about a matter; MEDITATE implies a definite focusing of one's thoughts on something as to understand it deeply; muse suggests a more or less focused daydreaming as in remembrance; RUMINATE implies going over the same matter in one's thoughts again and again but suggests little of either purposive thinking or rapt absorption.

Meditation is a function of the mind and the heart. It is what we think about in our hearts and it is something we each do every day. Whether we realize it or not, we all spend a large portion of our time in some form of meditation. The thing is, what we meditate on may or may not be leading us to YAH's Kingdom. In fact, what we habitually think about is frequently sinful. This is why it is a good idea to spend some time making notes about what you think about. This is the first step in the process of training ourselves to think correctly.

Let us look at what the Bible says about meditation or to meditate:

2 Timothy 2:7 Reflect on what I am saying, for YAH will give you insight into all this.

Psalms 19:14 May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O YAH, my Rock and my Redeemer.

Psalms 48:9 Within your temple, O Alahiym, we meditate on your unfailing love.

Psalms 77:12 I will meditate on all your works and consider all your mighty deeds.

Psalms 119:23 I meditate on your precepts and consider your ways.

Psalms 119:27 Though rulers sit together and slander me, your servant will meditate on your decrees.

Psalms 119:27 Let me understand the teaching of your precepts; then I will meditate on your wonders.

Psalms 119:48 I lift up my hands to your commands, which I love, and I meditate on your decrees.

Psalms 119:78 May the arrogant be put to shame for wronging me without cause; but I will meditate on your precepts.

Psalms 119:97 Oh, how I love your law! I meditate on it all day long.

Psalms 119:99 I have more insight than all my teachers, for I meditate on your statutes.

Psalms 119:148 My eyes stay open through the watches of the night, that I may meditate on your promises.

Psalms 143:5 I remember the days of long ago; I meditate on all your works and consider what your hands have done.

Psalms 145:5 They will speak of the glorious splendour of your majesty, and I will meditate on your wonderful works.

Psalms 104:34 May my meditation be pleasing to him, as I rejoice in YAH.

Philippians 4
[4] Rejoice in YAH always: and again I say, Rejoice. [5] Let your moderation be known unto all men. YAH is at hand. [6] Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto YAH [7] And the peace of YAH, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through The Messiah Yahusha. [8] Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true (The Word), whatsoever things are honest (The Word), whatsoever things are just (The Word), whatsoever things are pure (The Word), whatsoever things are lovely (The Word), whatsoever things are of good report (The Word); if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

2 Corinthians 10:5 (King James Version)
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of The Most High, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of The Messiah; (Constantly being aware of every thought in order to change it as it comes into your mind)

See The Word Constantly & Consistently

Deuteronomy 6 (Amplified)
[4] Hear, O Israel: YAH our Alahiym is [the only Master]. [5] And you shall love YAH your Alahiym with all your [mind and] heart and with your entire being and with all your might. [6] And these words which I am commanding you this day shall be [first] in your [own] minds and hearts; [then] [7] You shall whet and sharpen them so as to make them penetrate, and teach and impress them diligently upon the [minds and] hearts of your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down and when you rise up. [8] And you shall bind them as a sign upon your hand, and they shall be as frontlets (forehead bands) between your eyes. [9] And you shall write them upon the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

Psalms 101
I WILL sing of mercy and loving-kindness and justice; to You, O Lord, will I sing. [2] I will behave myself wisely and give heed to the blameless way--O when will You come to me? I will walk within my house in integrity and with a blameless heart. [3] I will set no base or wicked thing before my eyes. I hate the work of them who turn aside [from the right path]; it shall not grasp hold of me. [4] A perverse heart shall depart from me; I will know no evil person or thing.

Speak The Word Constantly & Consistently

Deuteronomy 30 (Amplified Bible)
[10] If you obey the voice of YAH your Alahiym, to keep His commandments and His statutes which are written in this Book of the Law, and if you turn to YAH your Alahiym with all your [mind and] heart and with all your being. [11] For this commandment which I command you this day is not too difficult for you, nor is it far off. [12] It is not [a secret laid up] in heaven, that you should say, Who shall go up for us to heaven and bring it to us, that we may hear and do it? [13] Neither is it beyond the sea, that you should say, Who shall go over the sea for us and bring it to us, that we may hear and do it? [14] But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your mind and in your heart, so that you can do it.

Luke 6:45 Out of the abundance of the heart will a man or woman speak!

THE POWER OF THE WORD SPOKEN FROM THE HEART: Proverbs 18:20 A man’s stomach shall be satisfied from the fruit of his mouth; From the produce of his lips he shall be filled.

Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.

Mark 11:23 "I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but BELIEVES that what he SAYS will happen, it will be done for him.

I pray that you get understanding of this for it is wisdom for those that can see it.

Give Praise, Thanksgiving Through Music And Song Constantly To Create Emotions For YAH

Psalm 100
[1] Make a joyful shout to YAH, all you lands! [2] Serve YAH with gladness; Come before His presence with singing. [3] Know that YAH, He is Alahiym; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. [4] Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name [5] For YAH is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations.

1 Chronicles 23:30
to stand every morning to thank and praise YAH, and likewise at evening;

Psalm 22:23
You who fear YAH, praise Him! All you descendants of Yacob, glorify Him, And fear Him, all you offspring of Israel!

Why is all of this important? Walking in the Spirit as well as hiding The Word of The Most High in your heart is something that we do!

Repetitive hearing, speaking, seeing and meditating on The Word produce thoughts, images, and internal self talk of The Word.

Repetitive self talk, images and thoughts of The Word produce automated patterns of thinking in your heart about The Word of YAH .

Automated patterns of thinking in your heart produce your beliefs (faith), attitudes, values, feelings about the Word of YAH.

Beliefs (faith), attitudes, values, and feelings produce the fruit of the spirit, actions, choices, and decisions based upon The Word of YAH.

Your actions which include your choices and decisions produce the issues you experience in life. Your daily habit of walking in the spirit and keeping Torah from the heart will determine your destiny in The Kingdom of YAH.

The book of the law gives us knowledge of what sin is! Most of the issues you face daily will be related to the breaking of the first ten commandments. My suggestion is to meditate on these both day and night to start. If you are having other issue such as homosexuality, sexual sin, the eating of unclean foods, then you need to add these to your daily routine in getting The Word of The Most High in you to transform your heart by the renewing of your mind. Once the heart is transformed, then you will automatically do the will of The Most High.

Psalm 119:9
How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word.

James 4:8
Draw near to YAH, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double minded.

1 John 1:7
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Yahusha The Messiah his Son cleanse us from all sin.

1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

It's The Word of YAH that cleanses the heart of man!

Rules of The Heart

Rule #1: Every thought or idea from the heart has a corresponding physical reaction

Rule #2: What is expected tends to be realized from the heart

Rule #3: Imaginations & emotions which come from the heart are always more powerful than reason, knowledge, and logic. We experience what is in our heart.

Rule #4: Opposing ideas or conflicting beliefs in your heart cannot occupy the same space at the same time in your mind. Being double minded!

Rule #5: Once an idea has been accepted in your heart, it remains there and governs your behavior until it is replaced or changed

Rule #6: Emotionally induced physical actions produce change in the heart if it is constant and consistent long enough.

Rule #7: Each time your mind and heart reacts in a certain way it becomes easier for it to react in this way the next time

Rule #8: The heart through the mind is programmed constantly by what you see, hear, speak, think, and feel.

Rule #9: The mind is driven with enthusiasm, determination, persistence, motivation, and excitement when it is clear on what you really want from your heart.

Lastly, Your Heart May Be Infected With A Media Virus (commonly called sin, doubt, worry, unbelief, and fear) & You Don’t Know It

Once again Proverbs 4:23 states: Guard your heart with all diligence, for out of the heart flows the issues you will experience in life.

Romans 12:2 Be you transformed in your heart by the renewing of your mind.

Renewing of your mind comes from what you see, hear, speak, meditate on, think about, and feel constantly and consistently.

I understand what I am about to say may sound crazy to you, but allow me to suggest the possibility that you have been totally brainwashed and you have unknowingly become your own worst enemy.

In fact, this is exactly what is happening to millions of people. And most likely, you are one of them.

What I am talking about is the programming you are getting on a daily basis 24/7. The programming that is imprinted on your heart without your knowledge.

I am not saying there is an organized conspiracy to program your mind. The people that are spreading these sinful messages don’t even know they are doing it!

The problem is as you are exposed to these mind and heart viruses (sin), you are likely to be infected. Just as exposure to raw sewage can cause you to be infected with germs, microbes and other nasty things, prolonged exposure to the media will infect your mind and heart with many nasty viruses (sin). Society spends billions of dollars to protect us from biological and computer viruses. Yet a mind/heart virus (sin) can be the most dangerous of all.

One of the best things you can do to prevent mind and heart viruses (sin) is stop following the news. Don’t watch TV, don’t listen to “talk” radio, don’t read newspapers or magazines that have the news in them. Why? Because they all make their money by selling fear, doubt, unbelief, sin, lack, and scarcity. Bad news is what sells.

Open the average newspaper and you will see that 90% or more of what you read is negative news (sin). The percentage is about the same for radio and TV. Do you really believe it is important to find out how many houses burnt down, how many people were robbed or killed in your city, state or another country? Do you really need to be reminded of the economic situation every day? Being exposed to all this negativity creates a negative view of the world and negative thought patterns in your mind. Keeping your mind occupied and not stayed on The Most High Isaiah 26:3.

When I tell people to skip the news, they ask, “How will I know if there is a major world tragedy or natural disaster heading my way or terrorists striking near me?” Trust me. You will know about all the big stuff you need to know. Let’s face it, the vast majority of your friends and neighbors follow the news so they can do the watching and reading for you. You still won’t be able to escape it completely because most restaurants and shops now have the TV news on all day long. So if something major happens, you will know about it.

Eliminate the news media from your life for the next 30 days and see what I mean.

Consume yourself with The Word of YAH both day and night in what you speak, see, hear, think, feel and do 24/7. Find it in YAH's Word, and then get busy transforming your heart both day and night!

“Who Won’t Enter Into YAH’s Kingdom”

On June 11, 2011, in Bible Lessons, by Milton Carnes

1 Corinthians 6:9 (Amplified Bible)
Do you not know that the unrighteous and the wrongdoers will not inherit or have any share in the kingdom of YHWH? Do not be deceived (misled): neither the impure and immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor those who participate in or do these things,

FORNICATORS (Having sex without being married)
(Anal or oral copulation with a member of the same or opposite sex; also : copulation with an animal)
(Marked by extreme desire to acquire or possess)
(excessive partying)
GREEDY PERSONS (RAPACIOUS; excessively grasping or covetous)

Revelation 22:15 (Amplified Bible)
[But] without are the dogs and those who practice sorceries (magic arts) and impurity [the lewd, adulterers] and the murderers and idolaters and everyone who loves and deals in falsehood (untruth, error, deception, cheating).

EPHESIANS 5:5 For be sure of this: that no person practicing sexual sin or impurity in thought or in life, or one who is covetous [who has lustful desire for the property of others and is greedy for gain]--for he [in effect] is an idolater--has any inheritance in the kingdom of YAH.

(To make fun of; jesting)
(TO RIDICULE: An instance of bantering or teasing)

[19] Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, [20] Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, [21] Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of YAH.

WITCHCRAFT (Greek: pharmakeia the use or the administering of drugs, poisoning, sorcery, magical arts, often found in connection with idolatry and fostered by it.

UNCLEANNESS (Impure and unrighteous. Can also relate to impure motives)
LASCIVIOUSNESS (Given to or expressing lust)
STRIFE (Heated, often violent dissension; bitter conflict)
(A strong feeling of displeasure or hostility)
RIVALRIES (Competitive mindset)
(Effort or ambition to equal or surpass another)
ENVYINGS (Jealousy)
REVELLINGS (To take great pleasure or delight uproarious festivities)
VARIANCE (When expectations are different than what actually occurs both external and internal)

Leviticus 23
Feasts of YHWH

[1] And YHWH spoke to Moses, saying, [2] “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘The feasts of YHWH, which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, these are My feasts.

The Sabbath

[3] Six days shall work be done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of solemn rest, a holy convocation. You shall do no work on it; it is the Sabbath of YHWH in all your dwellings.

The Passover and Unleaven Bread

[4] ‘These are the feasts of YHWH, holy convocations which you shall proclaim at their appointed times. [5] On the fourteenth day of the first month at twilight is YHWH’s Passover. [6] And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the Feast of Unleaven Bread to YHWH; seven days you must eat Unleaven Bread. [7] On the first day you shall have a holy convocation; you shall do no customary work on it. 8 But you shall offer an offering made by fire to YHWH for seven days. The seventh day shall be a holy convocation; you shall do no customary work on it"

Notice that YHWH DID NOT call the 1st & 7th Day of Unleaven Bread Sabbaths! However, Unleaven Bread is called a Sabbath in Mark 15:42 & John 19:31. If they (1st & 7th day of Unleaven Bread) are called Sabbaths then you will see the confusion when you try counting 50 days toward Pentecost or The Feast of Weeks.

Do you start your count to Pentecost after the First Day of Unleaven Bread or do you start it after the 7th Day Sabbath that falls within the 1st & 7th Day of Unleaven Bread. Let me introduce you to Strong's Concordance number for the 7th Day Sabbath (H7676). Remember this!

[9] And YHWH spoke to Moses, saying, [10] “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘When you come into the land which I give to you, and reap its harvest, then you shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest to the priest. [11] He shall wave the sheaf before YHWH, to be accepted on your behalf; on the day after the Sabbath the priest shall wave it (What Sabbath? 7th Day or 1st Day of Unleaven Bread?). [12] And you shall offer on that day, when you wave the sheaf, a male lamb of the first year, without blemish, as a burnt offering to YHWH. [13] Its grain offering shall be two-tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil, an offering made by fire to YHWH, for a sweet aroma; and its drink offering shall be of wine, one-fourth of a hin. [14] You shall eat neither bread nor parched grain nor fresh grain until the same day that you have brought an offering to your Elohim; it shall be a statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.

The Feast of Weeks

[15] ‘And you shall count for yourselves from the day (1st day of the week) after the Sabbath (H7676) (7th day of the week), from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave offering: seven Sabbaths (Obviously the 7th Day Sabbath) shall be completed. [16] Count fifty days to the day after the 7th Sabbath (Obviously the 7th Day Sabbath); then you shall offer a new grain offering to YHWH. [17] You shall bring from your dwellings two wave loaves of two-tenths of an ephah. They shall be of fine flour; they shall be baked with leaven. They are the firstfruits to YHWH. [18] And you shall offer with the bread seven lambs of the first year, without blemish, one young bull, and two rams. They shall be as a burnt offering to YHWH, with their grain offering and their drink offerings, an offering made by fire for a sweet aroma to YHWH. [19] Then you shall sacrifice one kid of the goats as a sin offering, and two male lambs of the first year as a sacrifice of a peace offering. [20] The priest shall wave them with the bread of the firstfruits as a wave offering before YHWH, with the two lambs. They shall be holy to YHWH for the priest. [21] And you shall proclaim on the same day that it is a holy convocation to you. You shall do no customary work on it. It shall be a statute forever in all your dwellings throughout your generations. [22] ‘When you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not wholly reap the corners of your field when you reap, nor shall you gather any gleaning from your harvest. You shall leave them for the poor and for the stranger: I am YHWH your Elohim.”

Look at Leviticus 23:9-16 from the NASB Version

9 Then YAH spoke to Moses, saying, 10 “Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, ‘When you enter the land which I am going to give to you and reap its harvest, then you shall bring in the sheaf of the first fr...uits of your harvest to the priest. 11 He shall wave the sheaf before YAH for you to be accepted; on the day after the sabbath the priest shall wave it. 12 Now on the day (The King James Bible reads: "In That Day". The word "that" is not in the Hebrew text therefore this passage becomes misleading) when you wave the sheaf (notice who is waving the sheaf now .... YOU and not the priest. These are not the same event but two separate events), you shall offer a male lamb one year old without defect for a burnt offering to YAH. 13 Its grain offering shall then be two-tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil, an offering by fire to YAH for a soothing aroma, with its drink offering, a fourth of a hin of wine. 14 Until this same day, until you have brought in the offering of your Alahiym, you shall eat neither bread (But didn't YAH tell us to eat Unleaven Bread but now he is telling us not to eat any bread) nor roasted grain nor new growth. It is to be a perpetual statute throughout your generations in all your dwelling places.

15 ‘You shall also count for yourselves from the day after the sabbath, from the day when you brought in the sheaf of the wave offering; there shall be seven complete sabbaths. 16 You shall count fifty days to the day after the seventh sabbath; then you shall present a new grain offering to YAH.

Look at the Septuagint translation of Hebrew to Greek to English:

Leviticus 23:10 Speak to the children of Israel, and you shall say to them, When you shall enter into the land which I give you, and reap the harvest of it, then shall you bring a sheaf, the first-fruits of your harvest, to the priest;

23:11 and he shall lift up the sheaf before YAH, to be accepted for you. On the morrow of the first day the priest shall lift it up.

23:12 And you shall offer on the day on which you bring the sheaf, a lamb without blemish of a year old for a whole-burnt-offering to YAH. (Notice that you are now making the sheaf offering)

23:13 And its meat-offering two tenth portions of fine flour mingled with oil: it is a sacrifice to YAH, a smell of sweet savour to YAH, and its drink-offering the fourth part of a hin of wine.

23:14 And you shall not eat bread, or the new parched corn, until this same day, until you offer the sacrifices to your Alahiym (Elohim): [it is] a perpetual statute throughout your generations in all your dwellings. (You shall not eat bread. This cannot be during the Days of Unleaven Bread because YAH commanded us to eat Unleaven Bread seven days, but this event is after the Days of Unleaven Bread. The hebrew word for bread is "lechem" which can be used in conjunction with Unleaven as well as leaven bread.)

23:15 And you shall number to yourselves from the day after the sabbath, from the day on which you shall offer the sheaf of the heave-offering, seven full weeks: (Note: the priest offers a wavesheaf during the days of Unleaven Bread and you start your count to pentecost after the days of Unleaven Bread when you offer your sheaf offering)

23:16 until the morrow after the last week you shall number fifty days, and shall bring a new meat-offering to YAH.

YAH's fail safe system for determining Pentecost:

1) The count is to begin on the "morrow after the Sabbath" (after the Feast of Unleaven Bread), and end on a "morrow after the Sabbath."

2) The count is to contain seven Sabbaths---seven complete weeks (culminating on the day after the seventh Sabbath).

3) The count is to number 50 days.

If you count 7 complete Sabbaths starting from the day after The Sabbath (1st day of the week) and end your count the day after the 7th Sabbath (also the 1st day of the week), then the 50th day will be on the 1st day of the week.

If you count 50 days starting from the day after the Sabbath (1st day of the week), the 50th day of your count will still end on the 1st day of the week.

If you are using the 1st Day of Unleaven Bread as your Sabbath in the counting of the omer to Pentecost, then Pentecost will never occur on the first day of the week unless the 1st Day of Unleaven Bread is on The 7th Day Sabbath. Your count to 50 will not be the same as counting 7 complete Sabbaths (49 days) and then counting the day after (First Day of The Week) as the 50th day.

There is a great example in the death, burial, and resurrection of Yahusha The Messiah. The Messiah fulfilled the wavesheaf offering of the priest during Unleaven Bread but our count to penetecost does not start until after the Days of Unleaven Bread.

Shabbat Studies For 12-18-2010

Shalom, followers of the Most High!

Congregation Yashuruwn meets every Sabbath 9 am - 12 pm. Below are the notes of what we studied during our service on December 18th. The main topic was Hanukkah, an ancient Israelite celebration that originated at the time of the Maccabean revolt against Antiochus Epiphanes. During that time, Israelites were under extreme persecution and many adopted the ways of the pagans around them. Torah scrolls were burned, Hebrew women were killed for circumcising their babies, and pagans defiled the temple at Jerusalem with idols. Although many Israelites fell into apostasy, there were a faithful few who fought to preserve the traditions and laws of Yah. They waged war against Antiochus and sacrificed their very lives for the sake of their beliefs. Eventually, they reclaimed the temple and rededicated it to Yah. Hence, Hanukkah is known as the Feast of Dedication (See John 10:22).

The story of these faithful followers is captured in the Book of Maccabees, which until relatively recently was included in English Bibles. Their story is also captured in Josephus's History of the Jews, which agrees with the historical account in the Book of Maccabees. In order to better understand the origin of Hanukkah, Congregation Yashuruwn read Daniel 8 (which predicts the brutal reign of Antiochus) and 1 Maccabees, chapters 1-4 this past Sabbath. We believe that these chapters foreshadow last day events, including the reign of the Antichrist and the second coming of the true Messiah. Below are notes of the topics we discussed and links to information for further study. Please feel free ask any questions or leave comments.

Some points that came up were:

1. The Gymnasium: Click Here

1 Maccabees explains that, as a result of persecution, many Jews joined gymnasiums in order to fit in with their pagan Greek neighbors. People worked out in the nude at gyms during this time.

2. Reverse circumcision
Josephus states that, under Antiochus, people were so afraid of persecution that they reversed their circumcision. This would make it impossible for others to know if they were truly Jews, even if they attended the nude gymnasiums.

3. The Term "one people." Antiochus forced all those in his kingdom to forsake their traditional laws in order for the people to become "one." Therefore, lawlessness was the price one paid for international unity.

4. Christmas. While Hanukkah has been observed for over two-thousand years by followers of the Creator, Christmas is never mentioned in the Bible. To learn the true origins of Christmas, please study the links below.

Never a Holy Day Click Here

5. The Role of Judah. 1 Maccabees 3:1-8 mentions an Israelite by the name of "Lion" who fought against Antiochus's army. This may be a foreshadow of the tribe of Judah during the last days. The prophet Zechariah predicts that at the second coming, Judah will fight and be on the offense to deliver Israel. See Zec 14:14.

6. The City of Antioch. This was the birthplace of Antiochus. To learn about the modern day city of Antioch, Click Here

7. Using Pagan Images to Portray the Most High or the People of Israel. In 1 Mac 3: 48, we read that pagan gods were painted into the Torah scroll. This is similar to more modern paintings depicting ancient Hebrews as Europeans.

8. Gaining People's Loyalty Through False Peace. In Daniel 8:25, we read that the Antiochus (as a foreshadow of the Antichrist) would seduce people into following his lead by giving them "peace."Below is the Hebrew definition of that word "peace."

9. Phineas. 1 Maccabees 2:26 Click Here

10. Apollonius. One of the men who fought against the Israelites in 1 Maccabees was named Apollonius. We looked up the name Apollo to see if there was a deeper meaning hidden there and discovered that Appollo was the name of an ancient sun god. As sun worship is at the base of all false religion, we thought this was an interesting connection. See these links for further study on the topic:

11. The Messiah Observed Hanukkah. In John 10:22 and onward, we read that the Messiah observed Hanukkah, also known as The Feast of Dedication.

How To Keep The Sabbath Holy (Set-Apart)

On June 2, 2011, in Sabbath(s), by Milton Carnes

Genesis 2:1-5 [1] Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. [2] And on the seventh day Alahiym ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. [3] And Alahiym blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which Alahiym created and made.

What does it means to be sanctified?

What makes your Sabbath (The Seventh Day) different from everyone else that is not working on Saturday? Being sanctified and set apart as holy.

So let's find out what it means to keep this day Holy: A day of rest and a day of no work.

Exodus 20:8-11 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the YAH thy Alahiym: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days YAH made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore YAH blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Deuteronomy 5:13 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, [14] but the seventh day [is] the Sabbath of YAH your Alahiym. [In] [it] you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your ox, nor your donkey, nor any of your cattle, nor your stranger who [is] within your gates, that your male servant and your female servant may rest as well as you.

So not only are we to rest, but those who work for us are to rest also. If we own a business, it is not acceptable to have all the employees working while we enjoy a restful Sabbath day. This commandment also includes anyone who we temporarily hire to work for us. For instance, when we go to restaurants we are hiring the cook and the waiter and the person who rings up the bill as a servant to work for us. Also anytime we purchase anything on the Sabbath such as groceries and other merchandise we are hiring others to stock the shelves, clean up and ring up the bill for us because we are paying for their service when we purchase the items. Nehemiah rebukes buying and selling quite sharply in this scripture:

Nehemiah 13:15 In those days I saw [people] in Judah treading wine presses on the Sabbath, and bringing in sheaves, and loading donkeys with wine, grapes, figs, and all [kinds] [of] burdens, which they brought into Jerusalem on the Sabbath day. And I warned [them] about the day on which they were selling provisions. [16] Men of Tyre dwelt there also, who brought in fish and all kinds of goods, and sold [them] on the Sabbath to the children of Judah, and in Jerusalem. [17] Then I contended with the nobles of Judah, and said to them, "What evil thing [is] this that you do, by which you profane the Sabbath day? [18] "Did not your fathers do thus, and did not our Alahiym bring all this disaster on us and on this city? Yet you bring added wrath on Israel by profaning the Sabbath."

Buying and selling is strictly forbidden on the Sabbath. Going to restaurants and shopping malls and grocery stores is not a sign of keeping the Sabbath holy. The Sabbath is a day of rest, prayer and worship. Not a day for doing our own pleasures:

Isaiah 58:13 If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath, [From] doing your pleasure on My holy day, And call the Sabbath a delight, The holy [day] of YAH honorable, And shall honor Him, not doing your own ways, Nor finding your own pleasure, Nor speaking [your] [own] words, [14] Then you shall delight yourself in YAH; And I will cause you to ride on the high hills of the earth, And feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father. The mouth of YAH has spoken."

So keeping the Sabbath day holy also means that we should not do our own pleasures such as sporting events, shopping, television, movies, etc. Also we are not even to speak our own words! Even our speech should be about YAH and His word.

The Sabbath is also a day for us to congregate with like believers.

Leviticus 23:1-3 And YAH spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of YAH, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts. Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of YAH in all your dwellings.

Let's look up the word Convocation.

The Sabbath is a day of sacred assembly or calling together of like believers for the purpose of reading the word of YAH.

The Preparation day.

Exodus 16:23 Then he said to them, "This [is] [what] YAH has said: `Tomorrow [is] a Sabbath rest, a holy Sabbath to YAH. Bake what you will bake [today], and boil what you will boil; and lay up for yourselves all that remains, to be kept until morning.'

On preparation day, we should prepare our food that will be eaten on the Sabbath so that we will not have to cook or prepare it on the Sabbath. Food that has already been cooked and prepared can be heated.

What is permitted on the Sabbath?

John 5:10 The Jews therefore said to him who was cured, "It is the Sabbath; it is not lawful for you to carry [your] bed."

Luke 13:14 But the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because Yahusha had healed on the Sabbath; and he said to the crowd, "There are six days on which men ought to work; therefore come and be healed on them, and not on the Sabbath day."

Luke 6:2 And some of the Pharisees said to them, "Why are you doing what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath?"

Luke 6:7 So the scribes and Pharisees watched Him closely, whether He would heal on the Sabbath, that they might find an accusation against Him.

Luke 13:15 The Master then answered him and said, "Hypocrite! Does not each one of you on the Sabbath loose his ox or donkey from the stall, and lead [it] away to water it? 16 "So ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound--think of it--for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath?" (Healing is ok on the Sabbath as well as visiting the sick on the Sabbath).

Luke 14:5 Then He answered them, saying, "Which of you, having a donkey or an ox that has fallen into a pit, will not immediately pull him out on the Sabbath day?" 6 And they could not answer Him regarding these things. (Ok to take care of emergencies on the Sabbath.)

John 5:16 For this reason the Jews persecuted Yahusha, and sought to kill Him, because He had done these things on the Sabbath. [17] But Yahusha answered them, "My Father has been working until now, and I have been working."

Mark 2:27 And He said to them, "The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath".

John 7:22 "Moses therefore gave you circumcision (not that it is from Moses, but from the fathers), and you circumcise a man on the Sabbath. [23] "If a man receives circumcision on the Sabbath, so that the law of Moses should not be broken, are you angry with Me because I made a man completely well on the Sabbath?

Matthew 12:3 But He said to them, "Have you not read what David did when he was hungry, he and those who were with him: [4] "how he entered the house of YAH and ate the showbread which was not lawful for him to eat, nor for those who were with him, but only for the priests ? [5] "Or have you not read in the law that on the Sabbath the priests in the temple profane the Sabbath , and are blameless? [6] "Yet I say to you that in this place there is [One] greater than the temple. [7] "But if you had known what [this] means, `I desire mercy and not sacrifice,' you would not have condemned the guiltless

YAH expects us to keep the Sabbath day holy. But it is always ok to do good on the Sabbath day and clearly Yahusha and the disciples did not have time to prepare for the Sabbath because they were doing YAH's work. So if we have to do a little work on the Sabbath or cause another to do a little work on the Sabbath for YAH's purpose then this is not breaking the Sabbath. Of course this could be taken to the extreme. BEWARE of your own agenda or purpose in keeping the Sabbath Holy. YAH knows your heart.

The Creator wants us to keep his Sabbath Holy by not working, buying, selling, causing others to work for us, speaking idle or vain words or doing our own pleasures on the Sabbath. There are exceptions if we are fulfilling YAH's purpose and in emergencies. Adding laws to try and regulate the Sabbath outside that that which is mandated by The Creator is legalism. And this is what the scribes and Pharisees were teaching, the commandments and doctrine of men. Yahusha taught and fought against this.

Three (3) questions to ask yourself when it comes to keeping the Sabbath Holy?
1. Am I doing my own pleasure(s) on The Sabbath?
2. If I lived in a perfect Sabbath keeping environment, would I be able to do this on the Sabbath?
3. Am I working or causing someone to work on the Sabbath for my own purpose or agenda?
